CMS & Plugin Detector ("the Extension") is a browser extension that detects the technology stack of websites you visit. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

      In short: We collect an anonymous device ID for license management. We do not collect any personal information, browsing history, or passwords.
    

2. Data We Collect

Anonymous Device ID

When you install the Extension, a random unique identifier is generated locally on your device. This ID is not linked to your name, email, or any personal information. It is used solely for:

Managing your license status (Free or Pro)
Tracking daily usage counts (to enforce the free tier limit of 25 lookups/day)

Scan History (Pro users only)

If you are a Pro user, your scan results (domain name + detected technologies) are stored on our servers so you can revisit previous analyses. This data is associated with your anonymous device ID only.

3. Data We Do NOT Collect

We want to be explicit about what we never collect:

No personal information — no name, email, phone number, or address
No browsing history — we do not track which websites you visit
No passwords or credentials — we never access your login data
No cookies or tracking pixels — we do not use any tracking technologies
No form data — we do not read or store anything you type on websites

4. How Data Is Used

The anonymous device ID and scan data are used exclusively for:

Verifying your license type (Free or Pro)
Enforcing the daily lookup limit for free users
Storing scan history for Pro users
Generating aggregate, anonymized usage statistics to improve the Extension

5. Third-Party Services

Stripe (Payment Processing)

If you upgrade to Pro, payments are processed securely by Stripe. We do not store your credit card number or payment details on our servers. Stripe handles all payment data in compliance with PCI DSS standards.

We do not share your data with any other third-party services, advertisers, or data brokers.

6. Data Storage & Security

Your anonymous device ID and scan history are stored on secure servers. Data is transmitted over HTTPS (TLS encryption). We retain your data only as long as your account is active. You can request deletion at any time by contacting us.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access your stored data by contacting us
Delete all your data by contacting us or uninstalling the Extension
Opt out — uninstalling the Extension stops all data collection immediately

8. Children's Privacy

The Extension is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
